CONTRACT WITH THE COMMUNITY

Bread for the City is committed to serving our donors with the utmost dignity and respect.  In this vein, our development office crafted ten guidelines to direct our actions.

Development Contract with the Community

  • Clients come first – at all times, and with all decisions.
  • All clients, volunteers, donors and staff will be treated with dignity and respect.
  • We will be good stewards of all resources; cash or in-kind.
  • We will acknowledge all donations in a timely manner.
  • We will never lie.
  • We will respectfully represent our programs, clients and community.

  • We will uphold our commitments to our supporters and vendors.
  • We will support all programs; no task is too big or too small.
  • We will uphold the Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice (link to Code of Ethics) and the Donors Bill of Rights, (link to Donor Bill of Rights) as stipulated by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
