Throughout the year Bread for the City hosts a number of special events. These events provide an excellent venue for us to make new friends and to better get to know our long-time supporters.

The Good Hope Awards is a breakfast award ceremony that takes place in October. More than 1,500 dedicated people volunteer at Bread for the City each year. These valuable volunteers are the backbone of Bread for the City and each fall we gather to honor them.
This year's 5th annual Good Hope Awards will be held on Thursday, October 7 at the Capital Hilton. More details to come!

Our annual Holiday Helpings Campaign allows Bread for the City to provide Holiday meals to DC's most vulnerable neighbors. In November and December, 2009, we provided holiday meals to nearly 8,500 families with the help of people like you. Thank you!

 Art with a Heart
Art with a Heart 2010, the 20th anniversary of our signature fundraising gala is behind us. And what a 20th anniversary celebration it was!
From celebratory cupcakes donated by Georgetown Cupcake, to our most exciting Live Auction ever, together we raised over $280,000 to benefit our programs here at Bread for the City.
Since 1990, though just 20 evenings of Art with a Heart, YOU have helped to:
- provide 5,000 job physicals
- provide 7,000 social service visits
- provide 10,000 hours of legal service
- provide more than 150,000 meals
- raise a total of $2.5 millon
This most definitely calls for a HUGE "Thank You!" to our sponsors, donors, staff and volunteers who made this year's Art with a Heart great!
