Medical Clinic

 

Bread for the City has provided primary medical care to uninsured and low-income children and adults since 1974. Our medical staff includes two full time physicians, a physician’s assistant, a family nurse practitioner, a clinic nurse, and over 50 volunteer physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, residents, students and others.

 

Medical services offered to clients at Bread for the City include adult general medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN care and job physicals. The clinic provides examinations, medications, lab tests, and referrals at no charge.

 

Unity Health Care, a non-profit healthcare provider, has partnered with Bread for the City and operates the medical and dental clinic at our Southeast Center.

 

Did You Know...

  • Last year, Bread for the City provided more than 2,500 uninsured and underinsured women, children and men with 6,813 free medical visits.
  • Our medical clinic offers the only free job physicals in Washington, DC.
  • Patients of our medical clinic receive referrals for specialty care, including mammograms and radiology. We provided 2,163 such referrals last year.
